ABSTRACT:
Despite increased investment in project management and governance, studies show that IT project failure rates remain stubbornly high. For the IT function, the consequences are significant: its reputation within the organization is blighted, and it makes it impossible to break through the glass-ceiling of IT maturity to become a trusted business partner. Even more seriously for the business as a whole, substantial investment in IT is impaired or wasted altogether, and business initiatives which are increasingly dependent on IT, are either delayed or cancelled.

Tim Jennings is one of Europe's most experienced IT analysts with expertise gained in a broad spectrum of technology areas working with both vendors and end-users in his 20-year career in IT. Tim joined Butler Group in 2000 and in 2004 was appointed to the board as Research Director. Tim's research interests include IT Governance and software infrastructure, and he has authored or co-authored major Butler Group reports on "Integration Strategies", "Achieving IT Flexibility" and "IT Governance". Tim is a frequent speaker at industry events, and leads the company's highly respected IT Master Classes, both in the UK and internationally.
Steve Romero
IT Governance Evangelist, CA
Steve Romero is the IT Governance Evangelist at CA, Inc. Prior to joining CA, he was the IT Governance and IT Process Officer at the California State Automobile Association. An innovative and passionate IT professional with over 30 years of experience, Romero has also served as an IT Director at Charles Schwab and Pacific Bell. He began his information technology career as an analyst in the US Navy. Romero is a certified Project Management Professional, a Certified Information Systems Security Professional and a Certified Process Master. He holds a B.S. in Business Management from the University of LaVerne.
